The world’s busiest airport met the nation’s largest sporting event in February 2019. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) leveraged the opportunity to make a big play for water restoration. ATL partnered with Change the Course to balance the water impact of travelers passing through the Atlanta Airport around Super Bowl LIII.
The Impact They’re Making
ATL’s commitment will restore 30 million gallons of freshwater to the Flint River through support of projects that enhance agriculture water conservation and efficiency, and improve reservoir management practices – helping to ensure sustainable water for economies, communities, and the environment. Conservation project partners supported include American Rivers, Flint Riverkeeper, and the Flint River Soil & Water Conservation District.
