The University of Colorado Boulder partnered with Change the Course (CtC) and Wells Fargo to create a custom water campaign that was white-labeled “Water for the West”. The campaign was active for over two years and helped accomplish mutual sustainability, diversity and equity goals.
How They Inspire
The Water in the West campaign was integrated into over 9 University of Colorado Boulder basketball games. For the text-in campaign, every time a fan texted in Water in the West offset 1,000 gallons of campus water use by donating to CtC to fund water restoration projects. The campaign generated 58,000 in-venue campaign impressions.
The Impact They’re Making
The Water in the West campaign generated a multitude of benefits over the course of two years. A few of the accomplishments include:
- 100 Percent of the Athletics Department’s water footprint balanced through WRCs, which supported Colorado water restoration projects.
- 20M Gallons of water restored through the support of Colorado River Basin projects on behalf of Wells Fargo.
- 75 KOHLER water-efficient toilets installed in the community by the FLOWS (Foundation for Leaders Organizing for Water and Sustainability) team.
